Memorable Moments: Max Verstappen and Kelly Piquet Unwind on Vacation with Friends and Family

Max Verstappen has had a fantastic, blistering season. Out of the 13 races yet, he has won 8. This is despite the fact that Ferrari have generally had the faster car. While Ferrari and Charles Leclerc have, on more than one occasion, shot themselves in the foot, you can take nothing away from the Dutchman.

Verstappen has driven almost flawlessly. While his championship rival, Charles Leclerc has made two costly errors, no error of that sort could be found for the Dutchman, who has even stepped it up from his driving last year. It would be fair to say that Verstappen has been a lot more mature in his driving this season compared to the last, but he has lost none of the speed.

Verstappen is 80 points ahead in the lead of the championship. While the gap is not yet insurmountable, and anything can happen, if all goes well, then he will likely be lifting his second consecutive world title this year. Right now, however, is season break, a time to kick back, relax and destress from the packed schedule of a Formula 1 season, and Verstappen is certainly enjoying himself.

Recently, Kelly Piquet posted a reel on Instagram detailing her summer with friends and family. Apart from Max Verstappen, other people present in the reel were her mother Sylvia, daughter Penelope, Verstappen’s sister Victoria and her partner Tom Heuts and Verstappen’s mother Sophie Kumpen.

The post was captioned: “Short snippet of a memorable summer with those who matter the most” with a hashtag of ‘family’ following it. Different Formula 1 drivers do different things for summer break: some, like Verstappen, spend time with family, while others may go to Mykonos or Ibiza, or like Lewis Hamilton, journey through Africa.

Clips in the reel included those of Verstappen with swimming arm inflatables on, of him swimming with the children while playing with a water gun, of the two couples at a show, and of the group enjoying some music, among other clips of the children and the group. Everyone certainly seemed to be enjoying summer.

Soon, the break will end and the schedules will resume. Max Verstappen will be back to competing at the pinnacle of Motorsport with Red Bull, and he will have to hold off any potential challenges in order to secure the title. Things are looking good for him, and one can hope that he comes back from this memorable summer break with a spring in his step.
