The 26-year-old Max Verstappen might have been better suited to the era before social media as the Dutchman is barely active on these apps. Verstappen loves his off-grid time and spends it privately and does not share much about the happenings in his life. Hence, the Dutchman has also sternly spoken about visiting his girlfriend Kelly Piquet, and their family in Brazil.
Speaking over his lack of social media usage, Verstappen explained that he wasn’t much interested in the outside world during the off-season. Additionally, this applied to the time that the Dutchman visited his girlfriend, Kelly Piquet’s house in Brazil. The 26-year-old further insisted that Piquet’s father did not discuss much about motorsport and that the father had talked about motorsports more than enough.
What I do in private is no one’s business, That certainly also applies to family visits in Brazil, when I see [Piquet]. We don’t really talk about motorsport. He has talked about that more than enough in his life.- Verstappen told Formula1.nl.
Adding to the previous comments about not discussing motorsports much, Verstappen asserted that there is more to life than just motorsports. The three-time world champion renounced that people don’t feel like discussing the same things over and over and are done talking about it after a certain point in life.
Max Verstappen is least concerned with F1 happenings during his break time
The Dutchman is barely visible on the social media websites except for Youtube and Twitch where he streams while gaming on the rig. Additionally, Verstappen reiterated that whatever he did in private was not anyone’s business and people did not need to pry into his personal life. Also, The 26-year-old barely follows F1-related accounts on his Instagram page or other non-athletes unrelated to sports.

Verstappen also explained that he only followed some sports and athletes on social media. The reigning world champion didn’t want to know everything that happened in the F1 paddock during the winter break, especially when he enjoyed the off time at home with his loved ones. Hence, the Dutchman explains his lack of presence on the social media website.
Hence, this proves that the mentality of the 26-year-old is different from his peers and co-workers who are actively visible on social media websites. Nonetheless, Red Bull alongside Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez prepare for the challenges in the following season and work towards potentially replicating this season’s performance in the next season.
