IU faced criticism from the LGBT community after releasing the poster for her new song titled “Love Wins”.
Management company EDAM Entertainment has posted the official poster for IU’s new song in collaboration with V – a member of the famous group BTS .
The poster shows IU and V facing each other. In it, IU holds a camera and seems to be pointing it at the BTS member. In the middle of the poster is the name of the new song Love Wins written in pink.
Immediately after being posted, the poster and title of this new song received many mixed reactions. Specifically, people from the LGBT (gay) community expressed dissatisfaction with IU’s use of the phrase Love Wins to talk about love between men and women.

The reason is because the phrase “Love Wins” was used as a slogan for the parade of people from the gay community. Specifically, since June 26, 2015, when the US legalized same-sex marriage, LGBT people have used this phrase as a slogan to spread on social networking sites.
Next, “Love Wins” was once again sung as a way for them to support people in the LGBT community when the shooting at a gay club occurred in Orlando (USA). To this day, this is still considered the typical slogan for gay pride parades.
Many audiences were extremely disappointed when IU used this phrase “arbitrarily” for her song. However, some fans still defend the female singer and think that “Love Wins” can be used for both love between men and women.
At the present time, neither IU nor V have spoken out about these controversies.
