A brilliant Nigerian medical practitioner, Dr Zainab Mahmoud has emerged as the best heart disease expert from the Washington State University in the United States.
Dr Zainab Mahmoud had started her journey at the Trinity College Dublin, Ireland where she bagged her Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine. She thereafter proceeded to the Imperial College London in England where she got a Master’s Degree in Health Policy.
After her Master’s Degree, Dr Zainab started her residency program at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in the United States and became the first African female Chief resident of the hospital.
Following her incredible run in Pennsylvania, Dr Zainab clinched a prestigious Cardiology Fellowship at Washington University in St Louis, the United States in the year 2019.
3 years after, she was awarded a Fellow certificate in Cardiovascular Disease, certifying her as an expert in heart and blood vessel diseases.
Celebrating her feat on Linkedin, Dr Zainab Mahound shared an image of herself holding her newly acquired certificate. “Ya Girl is a Cardiologist!” she wrote on Twitter.
Commending her exceptional feat, a colleague of hers named Ibrahim Gumel revealed that she got an award for being the best research fellow among all your peers and was also voted as the one likely to get a Nobel peace prize award.
“Oh and you didn’t just become a cardiologist, you also got an award for the best research fellow among all your peers! And your peers voted you as the one likely to get a Nobel peace prize award!” he wrote about Dr Zainab Mahmoud.
