Inter Miami and Lionel Messi’s permanent stadium is on the way to completion.
In front circulation around X, it shows that Miami’s Freedom Park has cleared out a significant amount of land.
Miami Freedom Park is Inter Miami’s long-term stadium project. The grounds have been in the pipeline since 2018 when David Beckham announced his plans for a Major League Soccer franchise.
It wasn’t until 2022 that the organization finally got the okay to go ahead to build on the stadium site, right outside Miami International Airport.
In late 2023, the Herons officially announced that construction had started on the site, with remediation and land moving a substantial part of the process.
When will Inter Miami move into Freedom Park?
The organization is aiming for Miami Freedom Park to open by the summer of 2025. Though that is a tall order. Despite all the hurdles, construction looks to be well on schedule.
Although Miami player their games 45 minutes outside the city, that won’t stop their goals for the upcoming season.
Over the offseason, the Herons have made it a point to reinforce their roster. They’ve signed Luis Suarez, Julian Gressel, and defender Nicolas Freire.
As the season inches closer, expect Miami to add at least one more player. The Herons have been after another midfielder with Agustín Palavecino and Cristian Medina linked.
Whatever happens, Miami will surely challenge for MLS Cup.
