Kieran Culkin has only positive things to say about working with his ex Emma Stone.
The Succession star, 41, takes the lead role in A Real Pain, which is produced by his former girlfriend, 35, who he dated from 2010 to 2011.
‘She’s great,’ Kieran told E! News at the Sundance premiere of the film, which seems him play a man traveling to Poland following his grandmother’s death.
‘She’s a really wonderful person,’ he added.
The actor admitted he was just happy to have a familiar face on set, explaining: ‘It’s nice because you go into a job and most of the time you don’t really know anybody,’ but in this case, going in, I’m like, “Oh, OK, well at least that part’s taken care of.”‘

‘It’s funny to even say ‘ex’ Kieran also told Rolling Stone this month. ‘To me, she’s just a really good friend of mine and my wife’s. She’s lovely and great.’
A Real Pain isn’t the first project they have worked together on, with both in the cast the 2013 film Movie 43.
Emma dated Kieran for two years after working on comedy flop Paper Man with co-stars Ryan Reynolds, Jeff Daniels and Lisa Kudrow.
While the film sank without trace the former couple’s romance blossomed before finally ending in 2011.
Kieran has been happily married to his wife Jazz Charton for ten years and the couple share two children – daughter Kinsey Sioux, 4, and son Wilder Wolf, 2.
Emma meanwhile married comedian, writer and director Dave McCary in 2020 and they welcomed their daughter Louise Jean in 2021.
Emma recently hung out with Kieran at this month’s Critics Choice Awards where the pals both scooped gongs.
Kieran took home Best Actor in a Drama series for playing Roman Roy on Succession, and Emma won Best Actress for her lead role in the movie Poor Things.

Also in January, Emma won her second Golden Globe for her portrayal of Bella Baxter in the sci-fi comedy film.
Through Poor Things, Emma is nominated for two Oscars: Best Picture and Best Actress and the film is nominated in a further nine categories.
To secure her second Oscar, Emma will have to beat out Annette Bening for Nyad, Lily Gladstone for Killers of the Flower Moon, Sandra Huller for Anatomy of a Fall, and Carey Mulligan for Maestro.
