A young African lady named Marietta Mbonye Inshuti who battled cancer during the course of her study has finally survived as she bags a Mechanical Engineering degree with first class at Makerere University, Uganda.
Marietta obtained her bachelkors degree in Mechanical Engineering at Makerere University in Uganda with first-class honors. Narrating her story on Twitter, she said she was diagnosed with diffuse large B-cell non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma during her third.
B-cell non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma is a type of cancer that affects the B-cells, which are a type of white blood cell that helps the body fight infection. This type of lymphoma can occur in various parts of the body, including the lymph nodes, bone marrow, and spleen.
”By this time in 2022, I had just been diagnosed with diffuse large Bcell non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma during my 3rd year of uni,”she said.
Marietta mentioned that she finished six rounds of chemotherapy without taking any off-year while in the university. She added that she was able to complete her treatment five months after she was diagnosed.
She stated that she was completely freed and healed of the illness. Despite battling the life-threatening sickness, Marietta was able to bag a Mechanical degree with remarkable first-class honors.
”I finished my treatment in July 2022 and I have been in complete remission since April. I am completely healed,” she said.
