Now that Kylian Mbappe has reportedly informed PSG that he will leave the club in the summer, the path is clear for Real Madrid to press ahead and complete his signing.
Indeed, just a while ago, it was confirmed that the 25-year-old superstar has told PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi that he intends to leave once his contract expires at the end of the season.
Building on that, Fabrizio Romano is now reporting that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is himself directly involved in negotiations with Mbappe and his camp over his move to the Santiago Bernabeu.
As per the transfer expert, it is 100% all over between Mbappe and PSG now, and Real Madrid are confidently pressing ahead with their efforts to sign the French superstar.
Romano also specifies that Mbappe is yet to reach an agreement with the Merengues or any other club and that he would have to accept a lower salary than he had at PSG to secure the transfer.
With things seemingly set in motion, it seems that Mbappe moving to Real Madrid is only a matter of time.
The signing has been in the works for many years now, with Los Blancos have been long-time admirers of the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner.
Mbappe came very close to joining the Merengues in the summer of 2022, only for the player to make a last-minute U-turn and renew with PSG.
This time, though, Real Madrid are totally confident about securing the superstar’s signing, with the players in the dressing room also discussing the topic.
