In a major update, journalist Alfredo Matilla (h/t RM4Arab) is reporting that Real Madrid have reached an agreement with Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies over a potential transfer in the summer.
Now, all that remains for the deal to be closed is for the Merengues to finalise an agreement with Bayern over a transfer fee for the 23-year-old.
Davies a top target for Real Madrid
As has been well-established by this point, Davies is one of Real Madrid’s top targets heading into the summer transfer window, along with Kylian Mbappe and Leny Yoro.
The 23-year-old Canadian left-back is held in high regard within the club and is seen as a big upgrade on the current options in the squad – Ferland Mendy and Fran Garcia.
It has been previously reported that Real Madrid defender David Alaba has been speaking with Davies to try and convince him about a possible move.

With his contract expiring in 2025, Los Blancos are eager to strike and despite Bayern Munich’s efforts to try and convince Davies to renew, it appears that the left-back is bound for the Spanish capital in the summer.
Agreement with Bayern Munich still pending
While there may be an agreement with Davies, Real Madrid still need to sit down and negotiate terms with Bayern Munich over a transfer.
So, even though there is some degree of optimism about the 23-year-old’s signing, there are some concerns as well, as the Merengues are aware that the Bundesliga champions will not make it easy.
It all depends on how negotiations with Bayern Munich proceed, but the left-back could very well be on his way to Real Madrid in the summer.
How that impacts the futures of the current left-backs – Ferland Mendy and Fran Garcia – remains to be seen.
