Prime Video‘s hit show The Boys is gearing up for its fourth season.

The show has been in post-production since April 2023, and we can expect the release of Season 4 around spring this year.

Prime Video recently released the trailer for Season 4 during CCXP 2023.

Although the trailer was brief, it did tease several new characters, including The Walking Dead and Supernatural star Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who shares a scene with Billy Butcher (Karl Urban).

It officially remains to be seen which character Jeffrey Dean Morgan will play in The Boys Season 4.

But according to a recent rumour, Morgan is playing Joe Kessler, a character who has close ties with Billy Butcher.

He is rumoured to appear in 6 episodes of the fourth season and will only have scenes with Billy Butcher.

The comic book version of the character is Howard Kessler, also known as Monkey.

As per The Boys Wiki, Kessler’s nickname stems from “an incident where Kessler, escorting Butcher to Doc Peculiar’s brothel, was promptly r*ped by green monkeys in both ears.”

He serves as a key informant for The Boys in their mission against corrupt Supes, particularly those affiliated with Vought-American, such as The Seven.

As the trailer insinuated, Dean Morgan’s character (Joe Kessler) and Billy Butcher are allies of some sort.

One possible direction for The Boys could be exploring a student-mentor relationship between Billy and Joe Kessler.

Alternatively, they could play old comrades reuniting after years apart.
