With the signing of Kylian Mbappe all but completed, Real Madrid well on their way to building a super-squad full of world-class players that can dominate the scene for several years.
But Florentino Perez has no intention of resting on his laurels and as has already been reported before, the Real Madrid president wishes to add Manchester City goal-machine Erling Haaland to his roster as well.
In fact, it has been suggested that the Merengues’ supremo would want to have both Mbappe and Haaland arrive this year, but that possibility seems unlikely at this point.
Haaland could leave in 2025
Amidst Real Madrid’s well-established interest, El Chiringuito TV is reporting that they might be able to get their hands on Haaland in the summer of 2025.
As per the report, the Norwegian striker has a pact with Manchester City which would allow him to leave the Etihad next year for a fee of €175 million.
Given how healthy Real Madrid’s finances have been in recent years, the fee is unlikely to be an issue.
However, the update regarding there being a pact between the player and Manchester City over an exit comes as a bit strange, considering previous reports have indicated that the Premier League and European champions are eager to tie Haaland down to a new contract.
Real Madrid were interested in Haaland in the summer of 2022 as well, but the striker opted to join Manchester City.
But, it has been suggested that donning the royal white jersey of the Spanish capital club remains a dream for the superstar striker.
Whether he gets to live that dream in the near future remains to be seen.
