Ronaldo at the Crossroads of History: An Opportunity to Leave a Lasting Legacy.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi or Robert Lewandowski have the ability to break remarkable football records in 2024.

Cristano Ronaldo currently holds the record for scoring the most goals in EURO history (14 goals). The Portuguese superstar is only one away from Karel Poborsky’s (Czech Republic) record of 8 assists when serving his teammates. If he attends EURO 2024 and has one more assist, CR7 will go down in tournament history by monopolizing the top scorer and assist position.

Gabor Kiraly holds the record for the oldest player to appear at a EURO finals. The Hungarian goalkeeper attended EURO 2016 at the age of 40. Currently, Kiraly has retired. Therefore, his record is at risk of being surpassed. Pepe is still the mainstay of the Portuguese team. He will be 41 years old by the time EURO 2024 takes place.

Lionel Messi holds the record for the most assists in Copa America history (17). Leo is aiming for the record of scoring the most goals in the tournament. Norberto Mendez of Argentina and Zizinho of Brazil are the top scorers in tournament history with 17 goals. Messi currently has 13 goals. The Inter Miami striker scored 4 goals in Copa America 2021, so the possibility of breaking this record is completely within reach.

Bundeslia 2020/21, Robert Lewandowski set a record for scoring the most goals in a season with 41 shots on the opponent’s net. However, Harry Kane now has 21 goals in 15 matches. With his current shooting rate, the English striker is predicted to end the season with 48 goals.

By participating in Brighton’s 0-0 draw against West Ham on January 3, James Milner reached the milestone of 632 matches in the Premier League, equal to Ryan Giggs. The former Liverpool midfielder is 20 matches away from matching Gareth Barry’s record for most appearances in history (652). With his inherent persistence, Milner can monopolize this record, at the latest at the beginning of the 2024/25 season.

Burnley and Sheffield United lost 15 out of 20 matches played (75%) in the Premier League this season. It is expected that these two teams can end the season with nearly 30 losses – a new record for the tournament.

The record for the most defeats in a Premier League season is 29, belonging to the teams Ipswich Town (1994/95, tournament with 42 rounds), Sunderland (2005/06), Derby (2007/08) and Sheffield United (2020/21) .

Andre Ayew can make history with Ghana if he scores at the 2024 African Nations Championship (CAN Cup). The 34-year-old striker has scored in 6 separate CAN Cup seasons, an achievement equal to Samuel Eto ‘o, Kalusha Bwalya and Asamoah Gyan.
