The Five Elders outscale the admirals by a margin in One Piece.
The Egghead Island arc of One Piece has certainly proven to be one of the most exciting ones, with some major battles taking place on this island of the future. Fans have seen the Straw Hat Pirates take part in exciting battles, and more importantly, this arc has also been marine-centric, which means that a lot of focus has been thrown on the likes of the Marine Admirals, after quite a while.
In the post-timeskip of One Piece, the Marina Admirals have not been focused on as much as fans would have liked. These are some of the most powerful individuals in the story, yet, they are only now getting a lot of attention. An even more surprising turn of events in the Egghead Island arc was the inclusion of the Five Elders as well. In this story arc, both the Five Elders and the Marines fight against the Straw Hat Pirates. And, as such, comparisons between the Admirals and the Five Elders were bound to happen, with some believing the Admirals to be stronger than the Five Elders.
The Portrayal Of Admirals And Five Elders
In the Egghead Island arc, fans got to see both Saturn and Kizaru fight against Luffy at the same time. In terms of portrayal, one can safely say that they are handled very differently. For instance, Saturn holds a much higher political position than Kizaru, and that in itself means that Kizaru is subservient to Saturn. At the same time, it also means that Oda has to write Kizaru in a certain way when in front of Saturn. A comparison of portrayal between these two individuals is certainly not going to work perfectly, because Saturn’s position automatically puts them above Kizaru. That doesn’t necessarily mean that Saturn is stronger than Kizaru, however, given that Oda usually writes the superior enemies, especially those who are competent in battle, to be stronger, it is certainly an indication.
Still, both Kizaru and Saturn did incredibly well on Egghead, especially when they were up against Luffy. In the first round, Kizaru held his own against Luffy, only losing at the very end. In the second round, however, Kizaru was largely humiliated by the Yonko again and again, which just went to show his inferiority when compared to the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates.
The Power Of The Admirals
In terms of power, the Admirals are easily some of the strongest individuals in the entirety of One Piece. They possess incredible strength, such that the Cross Guild has issued a Three Crown Bounty on their head. A single crown is equal to a billion berries, and every single Admiral has a bounty of 3 Crowns, meaning 3 billion berries, on their heads. This in itself is proof of the fact that the Admirals are elite fighters. Furthermore, they possess some of the most overpowered Devil Fruits that fans have seen in One Piece. Kizaru, who is actively taking part in Egghead, possesses the power of the Pika Pika no Mi, and using this logia Devil Fruit, he can turn into, as well as produce and manipulate light at will. This is one of the most overpowered Devil Fruits that fans have seen in One Piece, and it is certainly one that pushes him to the upper echelons of the story in terms of power.
Kizaru also has access to great Haki. He is a user of both Armament and Observation Haki, and both these powers are utilized by him to the fullest. In particular, Kizaru’s Haki proved to be much superior to that of Sentomaru, who believed his guard to be the toughest in the entire world. This in itself means that Kizaru possesses great Haki and that not many people can take him down in combat.
The Power Of The Five Elders
When it comes to the Five Elders, fans now know quite a bit about their powers. All of them have access to some demonic abilities, and in the case of V. Nusjuro, fans know that he possesses one of the Supreme Grade Weapons, Shodai Kitetsu, as well. In terms of Devil Fruit abilities, the Five Elders are some of the most incredible ones. In the case of Saturn, he has an ability that allows him to transform into the Ushi Oni, or Gyuki.
The Gyuki is quite a dangerous creature with the upper half of an ox and the lower half of a spider. He has the power to inflict invisible damage to the enemies, and even hold them down in their places. He also has the power to coat himself with a deadly poison that can melt through almost anything.
A blow from Saturn’s ability could end up proving to be fatal. While all these powers are certainly deadly, the most incredible power that Saturn, and likely every other member of the Five Elders, has is the regeneration ability. This power is so incredible that even Luffy’s attacks amount to nothing against him, which can be a game-changer in any battle.
The Showing Of The Admirals Compared to Five Elders
When the showing of the Five Elders is compared to the showing of the Admirals, it is clear for the fans to see that they are certainly superior. This is evident from the fact that Saturn’s presence itself was felt over the entire island, and even Luffy, who was already taken on Kizaru at that point in battle, was shaken. If that’s not enough, when Luffy fought both of them together, Saturn was the only one capable of resisting the powers of Gear 5. When Luffy spun both of them on his fingers and threw them at his enemies, Saturn turned back and attacked Luffy repeatedly. At the same time, fans also saw Kizaru bleeding profusely when being attacked by Luffy, while Saturn was able to regenerate everything that was done to him.
Furthermore, Luffy himself paid special attention to Saturn, saying that none of his attacks work against him. Clearly, Kizaru, despite being strong, is portrayed to be weaker than Saturn. This shouldn’t come as a surprise to any fan, especially when taking into consideration the fact that Saturn has everything that Kizaru has and more. His standing in the World Government itself puts him above Kizaru, and his status as one of the end-game villains and a perpetrator in the events of the Void Century simply makes him more important to the story. By every means, Saturn is stronger than Kizaru already.
