Survey Finds Lewis Hamilton as the Most Desirable Celebrity Passenger in the Event of a Breakdown
According to a recent survey, Lewis Hamilton has been crowned the most sought-after celebrity passenger in the event of a breakdown.
The seven-time Formula One World Champion secured the top spot in a lineup of celebrities whom drivers would prefer to have in the passenger seat during a mechanical issue with their car, closely followed by Jenson Button and Bear Grylls.
In addition to naming Lewis Hamilton as the top choice for a celebrity passenger during a breakdown, the survey of 2,000 individuals uncovered concerning statistics regarding basic car maintenance skills.
Shockingly, four in 10 drivers admitted they lack the knowledge to change a tyre, while 11 percent are unaware of the location of their spare tyre. Despite the importance of regular tyre checks for safety, 18 percent of respondents mistakenly believe that having a valid MOT exempts them from this responsibility.
Fuzz Townshend, the master mechanic from National Geographic’s TV show Car S.O.S., remarked, “The upside of improved tire quality and stricter safety standards is that failures are less common compared to past decades.
However, a drawback is that people are now less confident and knowledgeable about changing tires and other crucial car maintenance tasks, which could potentially save lives.”
Additionally, the study revealed that 55 percent of respondents would opt to call a roadside assistance company in the event of a breakdown, while 25 percent would attempt to address the issue themselves.
Tim Shaw, co-presenter of Car S.O.S. alongside Fuzz Townshend, emphasized the importance of taking car maintenance seriously, stating, “Regular maintenance ensures your vehicle remains reliable and efficient, providing peace of mind and keeping you safely on the road.”
