Lewis Hamilton has now been working without his close friend and former trainer Angela Cullen for one year.

Sunday marks the one-year anniversary of the split between Lewis Hamilton and Angela Cullen after his long-term physiotherapist and trainer departed his inner circle ahead of the 2023 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

Cullen first joined forces with Hamilton back in 2016, teaming up with the now-seven-time world champion during his ill-fated title battle with team-mate Nico Rosberg. While that year was a disappointment for the pair, she helped the legendary Brit bounce back to claim four successive Drivers’ Championship crowns.

However, in 2023 their partnership came to an abrupt end. No reasoning was given for the split at the time, but Cullen did explain that she was going to ‘pursue her dreams’. She has since travelled around the world trying out a number of extreme sports such as sky-diving, skiing and surfing.

When the split was announced, Hamilton took to his Instagram account to thank his long-term training partner. “For the last seven years @cullen_angela has been by my side, pushing me to be the best version of myself,” he wrote.
