Skeptics and naysayers took to social media to express their disbelief shortly after photos of the Princess of Wales shopping with Prince William at a local farm stand this weekend were released.
“That ain’t Kate…” tweeted Bravo bigwig Andy Cohen on Monday.

“I’m am sorry but that’s not her,” tweeted another fan who added “#FakeKate” to her message.
“They should’ve just paid Steven Spielberg to fake a video of Kate because that TMZ video just made everything worse,” tweeted another, adding an image of Middleton snapped in 2023 and a grab of her from the farm stand video.
“That’s not the same person #KateGate #fakekate #KateMiddleton,” observed another who also shared split images.

Middleton, 42, looked comfortable in a more casual outfit than the public is used to seeing, stepping out in leggings and a zip-up sweatshirt. She let her long hair fall against her all-black outfit.

Prior to the videos and images released Monday, the Princess of Wales hadn’t been seen in public since Christmas.Getty ImagesWilliam, 41, matched her comfort level in jeans and a baseball cap.
The video came hours after the Sun reported that Middleton had stopped by the stand after she and William watched their three children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, play sports.
“After all the rumors that had been going ’round, I was stunned to see them there,” one spy shared with the outlet. “Kate was out shopping with William, and she looked happy and she looked well.”
“The kids weren’t with them, but it’s such a good sign she was healthy enough to pop down to the shops,” a source told the Sun of the outing.Ashley Crowden/Shutterstock She underwent unspecified abdominal surgery in January.Getty Images
The eyewitness added, “The kids weren’t with them, but it’s such a good sign she was healthy enough to pop down to the shops.”
Middleton hadn’t been seen mingling in public since Christmas Day when she and her family attended church services. Weeks later, she underwent an unspecified abdominal surgery, and Kensington Palace announced she likely wouldn’t return to her duties until Easter.
She tried to connect with the public on Mother’s Day by sharing a photo of herself with her children, but experts determined it had been so heavily edited that several agencies issued a “kill notice.”

Middleton apologized for the botched photo shortly thereafter.
“Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused,” she wrote on X from the official Prince and Princess of Wales account.
“I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C.”
