Invincible season 2, episode 6 contains one strange alternate universe, one that could be the world of Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead.
Invincible season 2, episode 6 has just teased a major connection to The Walking Dead, wtih this surprising Easter egg teasing a greater Kirkmanverse. The Amazon Prime Video Invincible series is self-contained, with it having no major crossovers or spinoffs so far. This isn’t the case in the comics, however, with Invincible being part of the Image Comics Universe. The Invincible TV show has finally hinted that the Image Comics Universe could be coming to Amazon, with season 2 potentially containing a major connection to The Walking Dead.
Invincible season 2, part 2 is finally here, with the highly anticipated continuation of Amazon Prime Video’s critically acclaimed animated adaptation of the superhero comic of the same name now releasing on the streaming service. Invincible season 2, part 2 continues right where Invincible season 2, part 1 ended, with Mark Grayson returning from Thraxa to help the Guardians of the Globe stop the Sequid invasion of Earth. However, an extra dimension has also been added to the world of Invincible, with it possibly being the universe of The Walking Dead.
That Really Looks Like The Walking Dead’s World In Invincible Season 2
Angstrom Levy finally returns in Invincible season 2, episode 6, with him popping back up in the mid-credits scene. In it, Levy begins his trek back to the show’s main dimension, with him crossing several alternate universes along the way. One of these universes is a zombie-filled post-apocalyptic universe, and it may be a much bigger deal than it initially seems.
This alternate zombie universe that Angstrom Levy visits in Invincible season 2, episode 6 may actually be the world of The Walking Dead, and here’s why. Firstly, this dimension looks a lot like The Walking Dead, with the zombies greatly resembling the franchise’s Walkers and the landscapes being similar. Although Invincible and The Walking Dead may seem like they couldn’t be more different, the two franchise’s having a connection actually makes a lot of sense.
Why Invincible & The Walking Dead Sharing A Multiverse Isn’t Such A Wild Idea
Invincible and The Walking Dead sharing a multiverse isn’t such a wild idea, as the two franchises have historically been connected. One issue of the Invincible comics sees a supervillain find himself in Georgia, with The Walking Dead‘s police officers Rick and Shane appearing to investigate. On top of that, Invincible is a comic in The Walking Dead TV show’s universe, further cementing thier connection.
These consistent connections between Invincible and The Walking Dead are due to Robert Kirkman writing both comics, so it isn’t a stretch for the two franchises to exist within the same multiverse. The Invincible comics exist in the same multiverse as other big franchises, such as the Marvel Comics Universe, so it is entirely possible that The Walking Dead could exist somewhere within the Invincible cosmos.
