Emma Stone has a lot of love for her family — especially her little brother, Spencer Stone.
The two siblings were raised by Jeff and Krista Stone in Scottsdale, Arizona — Jeff is the founder and CEO of a general contracting company, and Krista is a homemaker. While it’s unknown when the couple wed, they welcomed their first and only daughter in 1988. Spencer was born two years after the Poor Things actress in 1990.
While Spencer keeps a low profile, he has attended many red carpet events and award shows with his big sister. In 2018, Emma told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show that she likes bringing him the Hollywood events because he’s “so cool and so easy breezy.”
“He’s just like, ‘Uh, this is cool. Can we go home?’ ” she said. “He’s not fazed by any of it … My little brother is my favorite person that’s ever lived of all time. I love him so much.”

Emma and Spencer spent their childhood in Scottsdale, Arizona, a city located just outside of Phoenix. In a 2015 interview with actress Diane Keaton for Interview Magazine, she said her family lived on the 16th hole of a golf course.
“It once said on Wikipedia that my parents owned the golf course, which could not be further from the truth,” the La La Land actress said. “But if you’re in Arizona, you’re at least within a couple miles of, if not on, a golf course.”
For two months every summer, Krista, Emma and Spencer would escape the desert heat and go to the beach in Coronado, California. The actress told director Cameron Crowe in a 2012 interview for Interview Magazine that if they hadn’t, they would have spent their summers “in a cold, dark room watching movies.”

As the elder sibling, Emma always dragged her little brother into her creative pursuits. Spencer told the Arizona Republic that they would put on shows together as kids. “She was the director and bossed me around tremendously,” he said. “She would be the star of the show and I would be everyone else.”
In addition to creating shows, they’d also watch them together. While walking the red carpet for the 2017 SAG Awards, Spencer and Emma told Entertainment Weekly that their favorite movie to watch as a family was the 1979 Steve Martin comedy The Jerk.
“[The Jerk] was my dad’s favorite,” the actress told W Magazine in 2011. “I wasn’t really a tomboy, but I was loud. And bossy. I wanted to be Steve Martin.”

Like his sister, Spencer has worked in the entertainment industry. According to Romper, he’s done some work as a stunt double, appearing in films like Divergent, Sharknado and V/H/S/2.
It’s not clear what actors Spencer has doubled for or if he’s still actively pursuing this career path.

In 2012, Emma took home Spike TV’s hot and funny guy’s choice award. She started her acceptance speech by letting the crowd know that Spencer told her to say the following or he’d “pummel” her.
“You guys are idiots,” the Superbad actress said. “I am neither hot nor funny … And Spencer Stone is the f—— coolest. He is fly as hell. And he could have a professional rap career if he wanted to. But he’s too chill and wants to lay low. Also, if Mila Kunis is here, he will be backstage for the next 45 minutes.”

Being an A-list celebrity and household name can go to anyone’s head, but Emma credits her parents and her brother with keeping her grounded while she navigates Hollywood.
“My mom’s pretty awesome,” she said during a 2016 interview with ExtraTV. “My family’s pretty great. I have a brother that doesn’t want to listen to my stories ever.”

Spencer has walked his fair share of red carpets, many of which led to some of Emma’s biggest career moments. He was her date for the 2017 Oscars and couldn’t contain his excitement when she won her first Academy Award for La La Land.
“I asked him to hold my hand, and when they said my name, he jumped up before me,” Emma later told Fallon on The Tonight Show. “There’s this picture from the back of the theater that my mom now has framed. It’s so sweet because I’m still sitting down, but he’s up … That was really a sweet memory.”
