Jack Antonoff shuts down interview after being asked about Taylor Swift’s forthcoming album: ‘I don’t talk about that’

Jack Antonoff is staying tight-lipped about his good friend Taylor Swift’s new album.

The songwriter and record producer, 39, quickly ended an interview with Dutch news outlet NRC after being asked whether he worked on Swift’s 11th studio album, “Tortured Poets Department,” which is scheduled to be released on April 19.

“You know I don’t talk about that. If you’re looking for clickbait, you’ve come to the wrong place. Thank you for this conversation,” Antonoff said before abruptly exiting the conversation.

Before he walked away, however, Antonoff didn’t completely shy away from mentioning his pal. He shared how the music on his latest project “Bleachers” compares to the music he’s produced for the “Cruel Summer” singer, 34, and Lana Del Rey saying, “I don’t see it as producing.”

“I create music with my friends. It comes as it comes. I’m not the kind of producer who likes to give commands from behind a mixing console. I concern myself with the music itself; the way in which you can manage the creative process,” he explained.

“Success is a strange phenomenon. It distracts attention from the ordinary mechanisms that lead to good pop music. Being able to listen to each other well is one thing. Swift originally announced her new album in February when she accepted a 2024 Grammy for best pop vocal album for “Midnights” which Antonoff co-produced. He also co-wrote 12 of the 13 songs on the LP.

It didn’t take long before fans began to speculate that the album title might be a nod to her ex Joe Alwyn and the group chat the actor shared with his buddies Paul Mescal and Andrew Scott — titled “Tortured Man Club.”

Alwyn, 33, and Swift called it quits in April 2023 after dating for over six years.

Swift also shared the cover art on Instagram shortly after the awards ceremony.@bethgarrabrantFans quickly began to speculate the album title was a reference to Swift’s ex Joe Alwyn and his group of a similar name.@bethgarrabrant

Sources told Page Six at the time that the breakup “wasn’t dramatic” and that there was no bad blood between the two.

“[The relationship] just ran its course,” they claimed.

It remains unclear what Swift’s current boyfriend, Travis Kelce, thinks of the new album, but the outlook seems positive as Swifties recently caught the Kansas City Chiefs player rocking a Song for the Mute colorblock shirt that seemed to match the aesthetics of her upcoming project.

He also wore a “T❤️T” friendship bracelet while attending brother Jason Kelce’s press conference, where the Philadelphia Eagles star announced his retirement, earlier this month.
