WWE boss Triple H has opened up when The Rock will be back in WWE following his successful most recent run in the company.
The Hollywood star returned the WWE programming at the start of the year as a face – or ‘good’ character – and had one of the most popular runs of his career after turning heel – bad – ahead of WrestleMania.
He teamed with real-life cousin Roman Reigns to beat new WWE champion Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins in the main event of night one of ‘Mania, and played a major part in Reigns’ loss to Rhodes on the second night.
‘The Great One’ revealed on the RAW after WrestleMania that he had to ‘go away’ for a short period of time to work on his latest film projects, but promised to return soon and go after Rhodes’ title.
Speaking at the Sports Business Journal’s World Congress of Sports in Los Angeles, Triple H gave a teaser of what to expect when The Rock returns, and warned fans to strap in.

HHH said of his rival’s most recent run: ‘We were thrilled to have Rock be involved. When you can have the biggest star on the globe, arguably, want to be a part of what we do, and in a meaningful way, and want to do it in a way where he’s not just like, “Hey, yeah, I’ll come in, tell me what to do, I’ll go do this”.
‘But all of his resources, all of his brain power, all of his creative, all of those things, his branding, everything, I want to invest in this, I want to make it an amazing ride for our fans, it doesn’t get any better than that.
‘He goes off, he makes a few movies now and as he said a week ago, he’ll be back and it’ll be a hell of a ride when he comes back.’
Fans have been left speculating of when the 51-year-old’s return will be, with some suggesting SummerSlam later this year in what is WWE’s second-biggest event of the year behind ‘Mania.
It seems he is at least set to play a role in WrestleMania next year, potentially facing Rhodes, though could be involved in The Bloodline’s story that has seen Solo Sikoa turn on Jimmy Uso.
‘If you had told me in the beginning of the conversation that we we’re going to get the Final Boss heel version of The Rock, I would have said you’re crazy,’ Triple H added of the star. ‘But that’s his level of commitment.’

It remains unclear whether fans should expect a rivalry between The Rock and Reigns, with it seeming that would be the direction coming out of WrestleMania.
Like The Rock, former champion Reigns is expected to take an extended break from TV, though will still be heavily involved in creative for the storyline surrounding The Bloodline.
