Emma Stone has lined up her next movie role, shortly after winning an Oscar for her performance in Poor Things.
Deadline reports that the actor will front a new film for Universal Pictures, while her husband Dave McCary will direct. Young Rock’s Patrick Kang and Michael Levin have written the script, but both the plot and the title are being kept under wraps for now.
Poor Things saw Stone play Bella Baxter, a woman brought back to life under bizarre circumstances, who leaves her overbearing father figure behind to go and learn about the world, and explore the depth and breadth of her sexuality.

Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy when promoting the film, Stone explained how her character changed her as a person.
“I found her inspiring in all ways. Her lack of shame and self-judgment can’t help but rub off on you, in a way,” Stone said.
“…There really is something that does happen with certain characters where you do find – I can be a little more forthright since playing Bella because she doesn’t really understand why she shouldn’t be able to say what it is she needs or thinks.
“Maybe that’s also just getting older, but there’s something so inspiring about how every moment is fascinating to her, and the good and the bad hold equal weight.

“You really realise that life goes by very quickly and she seems to have that internalised. It’s in her body, that memory somehow and so she just soaks it all up in the most beautiful way and has such a hunger for experience and all of it. You can’t help but have it rub off on you a little bit.”
