At the Metro Court, Carly takes Sonny aside to talk in private. Sonny reminds Carly she wanted to get the hotel back on her own, she refused his help, but Jason comes back and gives her the hotel and she just says, “Thank you Jason!” (imitating her voice while doing so). Carly says that’s about it. Carly tells Sonny he made his offer out of guilt for ending their marriage. He reminds her she ended the marriage, but she says she just put it on pause and he hopped into bed with Nina. Carly gloats he wanted Nina and look at him now. She says Jason’s offer was genuine, he always has her back and she’ll always have his. She says he’s lost a grip on things, as this is Jason they are talking about. Sonny yells he is the one who tried to kill him.

Carly says Jason didn’t try and kill him, and the sniper missed because of Jason. Sonny says Jason is working with the feds, which is a scary thing. That is proof that Jason is working against him, and maybe he made a deal to save his own skin. Carly points out if that’s the case, Jason’s doing a bad job because Sonny’s not in jail. Sonny says he’s had a target on his back for a year, and Jason has been MIA, so why didn’t he tell them he was alive. She insists he would have if he could have. Sonny says Jason betrayed him and she betrayed him too. She argues none of them betrayed him, and Sonny would be in jail if they wanted to do so. Sonny points out Michael put Dex in his organization to get dirt on him, but Carly says the plan changed and Dex saved his life multiple times. She asks if that doesn’t count for anything. He says it doesn’t. Carly says she barely recognizes him anymore. He tells her, “Right back at you.” Carly can’t believe this is how this ends for them, but Sonny says, “This is it.”

Carly says they’ll go their own ways, she’ll focus on her life, and him on his. He says it sounds good to him. He notes of all the people he thought would abandon him, he never thought she would.

Nina returns to her office and calls her assistant Madison. She wants her to contact her lawyer to see if she can dispute a contract she signed under false circumstances. She then nixes the idea and gives Madison advice on not trusting your friends to not have ulterior motives.

Madison goes to leave when Ava shows up to see Nina.  Ava tells Nina that she’s so sorry, and that she had no idea Sonny would react that way. She says that was over the top, even for Sonny. She says she’ll smooth things over, and hopes Nina understands. Nina says she understands how manipulative and transparent she is. She should have known given their history she should never have trusted her. Nina asks how long this agenda has been going on, does it go back to telling her to turn Carly and Drew into the SEC? Ava states she told her to do no such thing. Nina wants to know how long Ava has been playing her for a fool.

Ava again insists she didn’t tell her to turn Drew and Carly in, and told her it was a mistake to do so. Nina says she subtly pushed her to do it, teasing what would happen if she did, and she was all in on her selling The Metro Court to Jason who is now Sonny’s enemy. She accuses Ava of doing all this to have Sonny for herself. She points out that Ava and Avery moved in with Sonny to stay safe, so why is she staying? Ava claims because of Avery and that she selfishly wants to be on good terms with Avery’s father. Nina thinks she likes being in Sonny’s circle of trust, she likes how it feels. Nina wonders how Sonny will react to her not just being the mastermind of her calling the SEC, but that she knew the truth the whole time. She thinks Sonny won’t react very well.  Ava says she can tell Sonny, but he won’t believe her. She says he considers Nina a traitor and will think she’s lying because she’s so desperate to get him back. Ava suggests if she stopped trying to blame everyone and thought for herself for once, maybe Sonny would respect her. Nina scoffs, “Like he respects you?” Ava says Sonny doesn’t just respect her, and he counts on her.

Ava tells Nina to face it, she knows and understands Sonny on a level she never could. She calls him a powerful, turbulent, and sometimes violent man. Ava says if she wanted a life sitting by the fire with the grandkids, she shouldn’t have chosen a notorious crime boss. Nina insists Sonny loved her, and he showed her a side of himself he showed nobody else. Ava says Mike of Nixon Falls wasn’t real, and when he was gone, Sonny hid the dark parts of him from her to continue the fantasy. Ava argues that Nina never knew Sonny, but she and Sonny are similar creatures.

Nina asks what her end game is. She wants to know what Ava is getting out of this. Ava says instead of being tolerated by the father of her only living child, they’ve come to form an alliance. They lean on one another, they understand one another, and he doesn’t have to lie or hide things from her as he did with Nina. She says they are compatible in ways she and Sonny never could be. Nina tells her to have at it and signs the divorce papers. She then hands them to Ava and says, “Sonny is all yours.” Ava says nothing and walks out.

Nina looks at her rings, and remembers her time with Sonny as Mike in Nixon Falls. She takes off her rings, calls her assistant in, and asks her to have them messaged to Sonny’s address. Madison leaves with them.

At Jason’s place, he catches Danny wearing his jacket but says it’s okay.  He asks how he got in, and Danny says through the fire escape. He begs his dad not to tell his mom, it has to be a secret just like the boathouse. Jason says he shouldn’t have involved him in that or asked him not to tell his mom about it. However, he’s not sorry for the time they got to talk at the boathouse. Danny reveals he went to his arraignment without Sam knowing, and that she won’t let him see his own father.

At Sam’s place, she and Kristina put together some furniture. Kristina brings up Sonny, and how he is pushing everyone away. She also worries about the growing closeness between him and Ava. She was fine with Ava living there temporarily, but having her there permanently she’s not okay with. She recalls Ava’s part in Morgan’s death, and how her dad could go from loathing someone to totally trusting them. Sam tells her that it’s not her choice who Sonny lets into his life.

They are interrupted when Jason shows up with Danny. Sam is furious that Danny disobeyed her and went to see his dad. Kristina convinces Danny to go with her for some coffee, to give Jason and Sam time to talk.

Alone, Sam asks Jason how he could do this to their son. She told him to stay away from Danny. Jason says Danny sought him out and telling him not to see him isn’t working. Sam says danger follows Jason, and Danny is just like him, but he doesn’t have the experience and maturity to guide him. She worries he could end up in a dangerous situation with no way out.

Sam also asks what happens the next time Jason disappears, and how can she let him invest in Danny when he may be gone again tomorrow. Jason says he’ll set boundaries with Danny, he won’t let him come to the warehouse, and he won’t let him lie to her. However, cutting Danny off from him won’t protect their son. Sam says this conversation is over. Jason is sorry this is hard. Sam says she’s sorry about a lot of things.

Kristina and Danny get their coffee, though she gets decaf herbal tea. Kristina asks him to talk. Danny just wanted to see his dad. She asks how it’s been since he came back, if has it been hard given he was gone so long. Danny says Jason is easy, and he isn’t parental. Kristina notes unlike his mom, who only wants to protect him. Danny says his mom isn’t afraid he’ll get hurt by being with his dad, but that he’ll turn out just like his dad. He says his dad understands him, and his mom wants him to be safe and reliable like Rocco. Kristina says his mom is just trying to figure things out with Jason back. Danny says he’s sorry his mom is confused, but he won’t give up on his dad.

Lois and Maxie work to decorate for Brook Lynn’s party at The Savoy. Maxie is checked out, and Lois calls her out as she loves party planning. Maxie explains the stress at work has been a lot. She vents about Lucy, and how she’s been left to deal with Lucy all on her own. She says Lucy is holding up a new face serum’s release as she wants it named after herself. Lois suggests they call it Deceptive, and the tagline could be the skincare that hides what you want without a clue. Maxie thinks Lois saved her campaign, and Lois can’t wait to try all her new products. She says she was a big fan of Deception back in the day, and she’s a big fan of The Decepter.

Willow and Joss arrive with the paper gift bags. Lois puts on a boa and announces it’s showtime. Joss wasn’t expected to arrive or help, but Willow pulled her into it. Lois thanks her for helping and suggests she come tonight to help celebrate. Joss explains she has dinner with Trina, so Lois says to bring her after dinner.

Drew appears with a box of party hats, and Maxie takes them to Lois. Drew came looking for Curtis, but Willow says he is staying away and helping with Chase’s party. Willow says since he’s here, she needs his advice. They want Amelia to learn to swim, but she is terrified of the idea. She knows Drew taught Scout to swim at a small age.

Drew says it is best she gets Amelia comfortable in the water early, and to look at Scout now, she’s a little fish. Before he leaves, Drew admits he’s been spending more time with Nina lately because of Crimson, and she’s been talking about her and the kids a lot. She thought she might want to know. Willow says nothing but doesn’t appear upset at the mention of Nina’s name.
