UFC champion Ronda Rousey has once again proved wrong the cruel online body-shamers who labeled her ‘disgustingly manly’ and not ‘even remotely pretty’.
Yesterday, Ronda stepped out for the second time since successfully defending her title against Bethe Correia on Saturday night, this time to go sightseeing in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, making sure to show off the athletic physique that has helped her to achieve such sporting success.
After flaunting her trim and toned tummy in a sexy crop top and white jean shorts at a soccer match the day before, the 28-year-old donned a pair of distressed denim shorts and a blue printed halter, which was open in the back to reveal a lacy black bra underneath.

Playing tourist: UFC champion Ronda Rousey went sightseeing with her family in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Monday, flashing her lacy black bra in a backless blue top
Speaking out: The 28-year-old California native recently hit back at haters who called her masculine online
Baring it all: Ronda flaunted a trim and toned physique as she took in some of Brazil’s most popular tourist attractions, at one point bending over to expose her stomach
Out exploring the South American capital with her family, Ronda visited the Christ the Redeemer statue and posed for plenty of pictures.
She even obliged fans who recognized her, smiling for their cameras as well.
The California native looked totally carefree and confident as she pushed her wavy blonde hair back with a pair of Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses, flashing a thousand-watt smile for fans and paparazzi alike.
It’s unsurprising that Ronda has been in such a good mood, as the reigning bantamweight champ defeated opponent Beth Correia in just 34 seconds in their Rio de Janeiro fight on Saturday night, retaining her championship title in the process.
So friendly: Ronda posed for pictures in front of Brazil’s Christ the Redeemer statue, and even stopped to smile for fans who wanted a photo
Take a break: Ronda and her group paused for a quick rest, no doubt to escape the punishing Brazilian heat
Flaunting it: Ronda, who topped off her outfit with a pair of black sunglasses, can be seen enjoying the spectacular view
Easy and carefree: She went seemingly make-up free and left her pretty blonde hair loose and unstyled
She also came off a winner in another smackdown, taking down haters who’ve criticized her ‘masculine’ physique on a recent episode of the vlog series UFC 190 Embedded.
‘Ronda Rousey is disgustingly manly how can people find her attractive? [sic]’ one man on Twitter wrote recently, while another added: ‘Ronda Rousey has it wrong, it’s not her body that’s too masculine (although it is kinda) it’s her face [sic].’
Someone else noted: ‘Ronda Rousey is not attractive to me I don’t see what some of yall dudes see in her she look straight manly to me. [sic]’
Staying busy: Ronda recently explained that her mother raised her not to be a ‘do nothing b***h or a DNB for short’
Fun in the sun: Ronda paused to play with a friend’s baby, before the group carried on their tour
Beating the heat: She kept cool in a breezy open halter top and ripped denim shorts
Enjoying the sights: Ronda admired the view while out in the Brazilian capital with her family
So Ronda fired back, insisting that a woman using her body for something besides sex isn’t ‘masculine’ – it’s ‘bad**s’.
‘Listen, just because my body was developed for a purpose other than f***ing millionaires doesn’t mean it’s masculine,’ she said.
‘I think it’s femininely bad**s as f**k because there’s not a single muscle on my body that isn’t for a purpose because I’m not a do nothing b***h.’
She went on: ‘It’s not very eloquently said, but it’s to the point and maybe that’s just what I am. I’m not that eloquent, but I’m to the point.’
Monkeying around: The professional fighter took the chance to feed one of the local monkeys
So long! The monkey disappeared off into the trees after taking a look at what Ronda had to offer
Picture-perfect: Ronda was more than happy to pause for a few photographs with her fans
Rest and relaxation: The professional sportswoman looks deep in conversation with a few of her friends as they paused for a quick break
Ronda explained in the clip that she has a term for the kind of woman her mother raised her not to be, a ‘do nothing b***h or a DNB for short’.
‘[A DNB is] the kind of chick that tries to be pretty and be taken care of by someone else,’ she said. That’s why I think it’s hilarious if people say that my body looks masculine or something like that.’
While she didn’t let her critics get the last word in, Ronda also isn’t exactly wallowing after responding to their negativity.
The tough blonde took to Twitter herself yesterday to happily announce that her autobiography, My Fight/Your Fight, is set to be made into a biopic.
Taking it all in: The group enjoyed a leisurely stroll around the local area in Rio, taking in many of the best-known tourist attractions
Shop till you drop: Ronda and her family picked up a few souvenirs from their trip
Local celebrity: Everywhere Ronda went she was stopped by passers-by eager to snap a selfie with the UFC champion
What a view! The sports star shielded her eyes from the blazing sunshine as she enjoyed the sights and sounds of Rio
‘Can’t wait to work with Paramount, the talented [writer and executive producer] Mark Bomback and [producer] Mary Parent!’ she wrote that same day on Instagram. ‘When it’s time to make this, I promise to make it special.’
There’s no word yet on whether Ronda – who has also acted in the films Furious 7, Expendables 3, and Entourage – will appear in the movie herself.
Her deal was still hush-hush on Sunday when the triumphant boxer took in a soccer match between Flamengo and Santos, earning attention for her belly-baring ensemble and easy, breezy blonde ‘do.
Not right: For weeks leading up to Ronda’s UFC fight, people on social media criticized her appearance
Harsh words: This woman said Ronda is ‘far too masculine’ to be considered ‘even remotely pretty’
Feminine physique: On Sunday, Ronda showed off her fit figure in a crop top during a soccer match
Work it, girl: The Entourage actress even showed off some dance moves during the game
Ronda seemed to enjoy herself as she sat down with her family to watch the two sides play out a thrilling 2-2 draw; at one point, she even got into the spirit of the game by busting out some samba dance moves.
But while Ronda is known for her amazing athleticism, as well as her ability to stand up to her critics, the mixed-martial arts fighter has admitted that she once struggled with body acceptance and bulimia.
Ronda, who posed nude for ESPN The Magazine’s body issue in 2012, admitted that she packed on the pounds for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2015 Issue earlier this year, because she wanted to flaunt her natural curves.
Big win: She defended her bantamweight title on Saturday night title for the sixth time with a devastating knockout of Bethe Correia within 36 seconds of the fight that was held in Rio de Janeiro
Glammed up: Ronda looked stunning on the red carpet when she attended the ESPY Awards last month (left) and the premiere of the film Entourage (right)
‘I felt like I was much too small for a magazine that is supposed to be celebrating the epitome of a woman,’ she told Cosmopolitan.com.
‘I wanted to be at my most feminine shape, and I don’t feel my most attractive at 135lbs, which is the weight I fight at.’
She went on: ‘Now I only try to maintain my fighting weight for a couple hours a year – right before weigh-ins,’ she said. ‘Afterward, I maintain a weight where I’m not starving or feeling weak, which makes me happier.’
