Michael Chandler says Conor McGregor’s trash talk era is over ahead of UFC 303

The UFC star declares “The Notoriousi” infamous verbal jabs “past their prime” ahead of epic showdown

As the UFC 303 confrontation in Las Vegas draws near, Michael Chandler has thrown the first verbal jab, proclaiming the end of Conor McGregor’s once-dreaded trash-talking prowess. Known for his sharp tongue, McGregor’s psychological warfare has seemingly lost its edge, a shift Chandler eagerly pointed out in his conversation with Shawn Ryan.

There was a time when Conor was the Zeus of verbal zingers, raining down lightning bolts that could fry you where you stood, Chandler said. “But those days are gone. He’s not the wordsmith he once was. Now, he’s just another fighter trying to make noise.”

McGregor, who hasn’t graced the octagon since his leg-breaking defeat at UFC 264 nearly three years ago, faces skepticism not only about his talking but also his fighting capabilities. Chandler is convinced that the time away has dulled McGregor’s instincts, and he plans to expose these flaws right from the first bell.

The cage rust is real. His reflexes, timing, movement-they aren’t what they used to be,” Chandler stated. “When that cage door closes, I’m going to remind him just how brutal this sport can be.”

Chandler plans to turn McGregor’s tactics against him on UFC 303

In preparation for their bout, Chandler admits that he has adjusted his usual training regimen to include a new component: mental fortitude against trash talk. Without a dedicated psychological coach, Chandler has instead become a student of his adversary, absorbing every detail of McGregor’s career and persona.

I’ve never had to prep like this before. Facing Conor means facing a library of verbal attacks,” Chandler explained. “I’ve visualized this more than any fight before. I’m ready to counter his words with punches.”

Chandler’s strategy for the fight is clear: to dismantle McGregor physically and mentally. “I’ll hit him with big punches early, test his resolve. If I see an opening, I’ll take him down and end it. I’m not just planning to win; I’m planning to dominate.”

As the fight night approaches, the tension builds-not just in terms of who will land the first punch, but also who will have the last word. In this high-stakes matchup, both fighters are under intense scrutiny, but Chandler seems undeterred, confident that the era of McGregor’s trash talk dominance is firmly in the rearview mirror.
