A man must defend himself and his family from a deadly werewolf during a moonlit night.
“Wolf Man” is an upcoming American supernatural horror film directed by Leigh Whannell. The screenplay, crafted by Whannell and Corbett Tuck, along with Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo, reimagines the 1941 classic “The Wolf Man.” Starring Christopher Abbott and Julia Garner, the film is produced by Jason Blum under his Blumhouse Productions banner, alongside Motel Movies.
Universal Pictures announced plans to reboot its Universal Classic Monsters in July 2014, with the intention of creating a shared universe called the Dark Universe. However, following the failure of “The Mummy” in 2017, Universal shifted its focus to individual storytelling, leading to the cancellation of projects like “The Wolf Man.” Nevertheless, the success of Leigh Whannell’s “The Invisible Man” prompted a reevaluation, allowing filmmakers more creative freedom. After several shifts in direction and casting changes, Leigh Whannell returned to helm “Wolf Man,” with Christopher Abbott and Julia Garner leading the cast.
