The man behind the wheel of the Jeep, an unidentified 60-year-old, was also killed, as was the driver of the Chrysler.

One person, another unidentified passenger of the Jeep, is the only one to survive the tragic accident.

Moore was the only crash victim named by the medical examiner, but tributes online, and on social media confirmed that both wives had been killed in the crash.

The crash occurred on Highway 76, near the town of Fallbrook, about 45 miles north of San Diego.

“Her passion, and fight for justice, and equality is what brought her and Hope together,” Rep. Barbara Lee wrote on X.

“Together they organized, changed hearts, and minds, and helped to create a world where who you love doesn’t limit your freedoms.”

“Both Peggy and Hope made an impact on our community, on our city, on our state, and on our nation that will be felt for generations to come,” she said about the couple.

Moore and Wood met while campaigning for Barack Obama in 2008, and started a life together in the Bay Area shortly after.

Moore previously served in 2014 as a campaign manager for former Libby Schaaf, the former mayor of Oakland.

She also served as a senior adviser in Schaaf’s office from 2015 through 2017, according to her LinkedIn page.

In 2019, she and her wife founded Hope Action Change together, a consultancy, and coaching firm that emphasizes change, diversity, and equity.

“You could not walk anywhere with Peggy without it taking two hours,” Schaaf told local CW affiliate KRON-TV.

“For her, politics was deeply personal. It was about connecting through our differences, to lift up our shared hopes, and just love,” said Schaaf.

In addition, Moore served as a senior consultant on Contra Costa County District Attorney Diana Becton’s successful campaign run, and served as the political director for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential primary campaign in California.

Rusty Hicks, the chair of the California Democratic Party, said on X that he was “saddened” by her “tragic passing.”

“She was an incredible political talent & member of Team CADEM who brought a passion for organizing & a commitment to justice every single day,” wrote Hicks.

Vice President-elect J.D. Vance is preparing for government. But meetings to plan policy rollouts and announce appointments at MAGA HQ sometimes have to wait until after family time and a chance to frolic with the children on the grounds of Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate. Two of the most polarizing nominations have been Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Health and Human Services Secretary and ex-Florida Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz for attorney general.

Thought police in Keir Starmer’s Britain ‘are like Soviet Union’, warns Boris Johnson: Ex-PM attacks growing number of social media ‘hate incident’ probes as threat to free speech

Boris Johnson has attacked the growing scourge of ‘thought police’ in Sir Keir Starmer’s Britain, comparing it to ‘the Soviet Union at its worst’. Writing in today’s Daily Mail, the former prime minister says investigations by police into comments on social media come ‘straight out of 1980s Romania, and the horrible curtain-twitching culture by which people reported on their friends – even their family members’. It comes amid an increasing backlash over ‘non-crime hate incidents’, where already overstretched officers probe comments and actions not considered serious enough to constitute an offence.
