The flagrant foul that Angel Reese had on Caitlin Clark during the Chicago Sky vs. Indiana Fever game on Father’s day was always going to spark a lot of discussion in the sports media world.
Especially after Reese added a subtle dig toward Clark after the game ended when she said that, “some players get a special whistle,” which was clearly a reference to Clark.
One of the media personalities who discussed this foul and ensuing comment was Dan Patrick. And while doing so, he added a fascinating comparison for Clark.
Tiger Woods watches his tee shot on the 11th hole of the opening round at the PGA Championship in Louisville on May 16, 2024.
“Caitlin Clark got all of this exposure… because she’s unique,” Patrick said when talking about the difference between Clark and Reese. “Just like Steph Curry is unique, Tiger Woods is unique.
“Not everybody gets it just because, ‘Hey, I’ve put in 10 years in the WNBA, or the PGA Tour,” Patrick continued.
"If you watch her play, there's nothing exciting about her game, she's just a really good solid player. She plays hard and I commend her for that. Caitlin Clark got all of this exposure because she's unique. Just like Steph Curry or Tiger are/were unique"

Patrick’s comparison has nearly 800,000 views on X ever since he made it on Monday.
And he definitely has a point, when it comes to both Clark, Woods, and Steph Curry being major needle-movers in their respective sports.
