“Avatar: Fire and Ash” is the third chapter in the groundbreaking Avatar film series. Serving as a direct sequel to “Avatar: The Way of Water,” this installment will be followed by “Avatar 4.” Fans can expect to return to the mesmerizing world of Pandora when the film hits theaters on December 19, 2025, marking ten years since its originally intended release in December 2015.
Filmed back-to-back with “Avatar: The Way of Water,” production for “Avatar: Fire and Ash” began in 2017. However, on June 13, 2023, the release dates for the last three sequels were pushed back once again, with “Avatar: Fire and Ash” now set for its December 2025 debut. Producer Jon Landau emphasized the importance of quality in the filmmaking process, stating, “Each Avatar film is an exciting but epic undertaking that takes time to bring to the quality level we as filmmakers strive for and audiences have come to expect. The team is hard at work and can’t wait to bring audiences back to Pandora in December 2025.”
