Mani Ratnam’s upcoming film Thug Life stars Kamal Haasan in the lead role. Raaj Kamal Films International (RKFI), Madras Talkies, and Red Giant Movies co-produced the film, which stars Kamal Haasan, Mani Ratnam, and Udhayanidhi Stalin.
The filming for his next epic masterpiece, Thug Life, is already complete, and it is slated to be released next year. Thug Life is Kamal’s 234th film as a lead actor, and it was formally confirmed in November 2022. The film’s music was composed by AR Rahman, adding to the excitement around the project.
In an amazing development, reports about Thug Life’s OTT agreement have left everyone speechless. Netflix reportedly paid ₹149.7 crore for digital rights, however official confirmation is still pending. This is a new record for Kollywood, becoming the largest OTT agreement ever for a Tamil film.
Previously, Thalapathy Vijay’s The Greatest Of All Time had the highest OTT deal worth ₹125 crore. Kamal’s Thug Life has now outperformed it by an amazing 19.76 percent. Other significant OTT deals include Leo (₹120 crores), Jailer (₹100 crores), and Good Bad Ugly (₹95 crores). However, Thug Life has set a new record for Tamil film!
