Brooklyn Beckham revealed what Prince William is really like during Monday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live – and snubbed Harry and Meghan in the process.
The 25-year-old son of David and Victoria Beckham appeared on the show to discuss his friendship with Selena Gomez and plug his new hot sauce – but conversation swiftly turned to his famed family’s close friendship with UK royalty.
In recent years the Beckhams have had a rumored rift with Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle – so it comes as no surprise that Brooklyn named the heir to the throne, 42, as the Royal he had spent the most time with.
Host Andy Cohen, 56, said: ‘Growing up, which members of the royal family did you see most often, especially since your family is friends with Harry and Meghan?
Ignoring the mention of the California based Royals, Beckham responded: ‘Uhh, probably William’ with Cohen saying: ‘Yeah? What’s he like, is there something about him people don’t get? Is he fun?
Beckham added: ‘He’s just, like, the sweetest guy ever. He really is. He’s really down to earth. He’s a really good guy.
A stunned Cohen replied: ‘Wow.’
The Beckhams’ alleged spat with the Sus𝑠e𝑥es seemingly dates back to 2018.
The row is believed to have heightened when the Sus𝑠e𝑥es allegedly accused the Beckhams of leaking stories about them to the press – while royal biographers claimed Meghan ‘didn’t like the footballer’s friendship with Prince William .’
New speculation about their relationship emerged in May 2024, when, as the Mail understands, King Charles met with David Beckham to discuss his charitable foundation while Prince Harry was in the country.
Previously, the Duke of Sus𝑠e𝑥 had said that his father was too busy attending to ‘various other priorities’ to see him while he was in the UK.
David and Victoria Beckham were guests at her wedding to Prince Harry at Windsor in 2018.
Meghan and Harry were notably not guests at the wedding of Brooklyn to US heiress Nicola Peltz in April 2022.
The couple moved to California back in 2020 with their son Prince Archie, as they stepped back as working royals. Princess Lilibet was born a year later in 2021.
In their six-part Netflix series in December 2022, Harry said of his and Meghan’s move to California , ‘We are exactly where we’re supposed to be.’ But then the Duke added: ‘I miss the UK.’
After the news of King Charles’ cancer diagnosis earlier this year, Harry quickly returned to the UK to be by his father’s side, though their meeting was reported to last less than 45 minutes.
‘The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go to see him, and spend any time with him, I’m grateful for that,’ he said on ABC’s Good Morning America a few days after the visit. ‘Any illness, any sickness, brings families together.’
But it may be a long road to reconciliation ahead of Harry, with the Duke’s previous revelations in his memoir and during his Netflix show causing potentially irreversible damage.
