WWE superstar and Hollywood actor John Cena has repeatedly expressed his love for anime shows. Cena has claimed that some of his all-time favorites are Bleach, My Hero Academia, and One Piece. Cena’s love of anime has been clear for quite some time, and it would not be surprising to see Cena voice an anime character for the English dub version of the series or star in a live-action adaptation of an anime.
John Cena
Given the anticipation around One Piece live-action and Cena’s affection for the series, it wouldn’t be surprising if Cena joined the series. There are many roles in the One Piece live-action series that would be perfect for Cena. Here are 5 One Piece Characters who Cena could play brilliantly.
1. FrankyFranky in One PieceAdvertisement
Franky is the Straw Hat Pirates shipwright. He’s the eighth member of the crew. At the beginning of the Water 7 Arc, Franky and his crew were adversaries of the Straw Hats, but events drove them to become comrades. Franky’s ambition is to build a ship and sail around the world on it. Franky is a strong-built man who stands at least seven feet tall, making him the Straw Hat crew’s third tallest member behind Jinbe and Brook. His forearms are massive, whereas his biceps are small. Franky would be the perfect fit for Cena as both of them have a similar build and also share a similar nature so it would be easy for Cena to portray him.
2. Gecko MoriaGecko Moria
Gecko Moria is the captain of the Thriller Bark Pirates and a former member of the Seven Warlords of the Sea who lives on the world’s largest ship, Thriller Bark. He is the main adversary in the Thriller Bark Saga. Moria is an extremely big humanoid with unique devil-like features. He was the tallest of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, standing at 692 cm in height. Moria has a comfortable, laid-back, and even lethargic demeanor as if he believes he cannot lose. Cena would perfectly portray Gecko Moria in the live-action.
3. CrocodileCrocodile from One Piece
Sir Crocodile is the previous president of the enigmatic criminal organization Baroque Works. He is the major antagonist of the Arabasta Arc as well as the Arabasta Saga as a whole. He was first introduced as one of the Seven Sea Warlords. Crocodile stands tall, with a large chest, broad shoulders, muscular arms and legs, and a robust neck. Crocodile has several war wounds, the most visible of which is a long-stitched scar across his face at the bridge of his nose. Cena fits perfectly for the role of Crocodile as both of them have a similar physique and Cena would portray the arrogant and cynical Crocodile perfectly.
4. SmokerSmoker – One Piece
Smoker is a Marine vice admiral and the Commander of the G-5 Marine base, following the defection of his former boss Vergo. He was initially seen as a captain in Loguetown when he set out to capture Luffy. Smoker is a muscular, white-haired, brown-eyed man who is constantly seen smoking two cigars at the same time. He’s dressed in a huge white and blue specialty maritime jacket that he keeps open, with greenish fur lining the collar, wrists, and hem. Cena would look perfect as Smoker and would also nail the role of a man who is obsessed with Justice.
5. AkainuAkainu
Sakazuki, formerly known by his admiral nickname Akainu, is the current fleet admiral of the Marines, following Sengoku. He was one of three admirals in the early part of the series. Sakazuki is an exceptionally tall, light-skinned, and unusually muscular man. He’s around the same height as his fellow admirals, with a square-shaped face, prominent facial features, and short black hair. He stands 306 cm tall. Akainu’s role as the antagonist of the series would be perfect for Cena as it is an important role and Cena would be on point with his portrayal as Akainu.
