Melissa Claire Egan happily announced that she welcomed her second child, a baby boy, with husband Matt Katrosar in a new Instagram post uploaded on Saturday.
The Young And The Restless star, 41, who already shares one-year-old son, Caden, with the actor, shared sweet snaps that were taken shortly after their little one’s arrival to the world.
In the caption, the actress excitedly penned, ‘Meet Jake Joseph Katrosar! Born 7/14/23. Welcome to the world sweet boy. A few weeks early, but we’re so happy to have you and call you ours and love you forever!’
One photo showed Melissa flashing a smile towards the camera as she rested on a hospital bed with her baby boy on top of chest. Her husband, whom she tied the knot with in 2014, also held a happy grin.
Another image was taken when the star and her husband returned to their hospital room with Jake.

The couple couldn’t conceal their joy in another snap added to the Instagram carousel. Matt gently held their baby boy in his arms while his wife rested on a bed.
Melissa’s fellow co-stars jumped to the comment section to express their excitement and sent their congratulations to the star.
Mel Ordway wrote, ‘Omg!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!! Love you and can’t wait to meet beautiful baby boy!!!!!’ while Greg Rikaart typed out, ‘You guys!!!! ❤️❤️❤️.’
The beauty revealed that baby number two was on the way earlier this year in February and shared an adorable snap with her son, Caden. The two posed for a picture together as she gently cradled her growing baby bump.
‘Looks like we’re just destined to have August babies!’ she had penned at the time. ‘So grateful and excited to be adding another cub to our family of Leo baby boys. Caden’s gonna be a big brother!’
Not long after sharing the post, Melissa addressed all the love and kind words she had received since the baby announcement.
‘I just wanted to pop on here and just thank you for the love and support for baby No. 2 it means so much,’ she shared to her Instagram stories, per Us Weekly. ‘Most of you on Instagram are strangers and the fact that you are so loving and so supportive truly, like, brings tears to my eyes.’
The actress added, ‘So thank you, we’re so excited. I know a lot of you know what we’ve been through to get here so thank you for all the love today.’

Their first child was born in August 2021, and will celebrate his second birthday next month. However, Melissa previously opened up about her fertility journey before Caden was born.
When she announced her first pregnancy in April 2021, the All My Children actress revealed that she had experienced two miscarriages that had left her feeling ‘helpless’ and also ‘hopeless.’
‘Very excited to share, Baby Boy Katrosar is set to arrive at the end of August,’ she began. ‘As happy as we are, the journey to get here has been filled with lots of tears, stress, sadness, helplessness, hopelessness, and 2 miscarriages.’
In conclusion, she shared words of positivity and added, ‘To anyone going through this process or any kind of fertility issues, I feel you, I see you, you’re not alone.’
