Lisa (BlackPink) is facing backlash after appearing in a Crazy Horse strip show in France. Not only does she face the risk of being banned in China, but she is also eliminated by luxury brands.

Lisa could be a burden for luxury brands in China

Lisa ‘s incident became more serious in the country’s billion-people market when Lisa and her fans’ Weibo accounts were deleted. Even worse, two Chinese stars Angelababy and Truong Gia Nghe had difficulty and limited their activities after watching Lisa perform a striptease.

Comprehensive sanctions were imposed on Lisa for violating rules applicable to celebrities in China. The “Celebrity Self-Management Measures” of the China Performing Arts Association stipulate that “entertainers shall not organize, participate in or promote pornography, gambling, drugs, violence, terrorism…”. In China, there are strong criticisms that Lisa’s performance in Crazy Horse is a show that commercializes women and encourages obscene performances.

The wave of protests against Lisa is not only fierce in China but also in many other major markets. Korean audiences believe that Thai female idols tarnish the image of Kpop idols . Not only Lisa, Jennie was also affected.

On  No Cut News , hundreds of comments from Korean audiences criticized Lisa, with readers in their 40s overwhelming with 47%.

“She ruined our Kpop image with her striptease performance. I never imagined I would see Korean idols performing in such a place!”, “Korean idols also need to be careful. Trying to gain popularity through provocative tactics will only make you look cheap. Hwasa is the same, she’s trying to use her body to get famous when she should be focusing on her singing ability”, “It’s crazy to imagine a top idol stripping on stage…” – comments left.

Many people believe that BlackPink’s path to the Chinese market is now ruined because of Lisa: “YG seems to have objected but she still stubbornly chooses to appear, causing great damage to YG, shareholders and YG staff. If they count income from concerts, album sales, luxury brand advertising… they will lose billions and tens of billions of won.

On top of that, she also tarnished the image of Kpop and BlackPink. Korean idols should at least apologize for doing things like this, but Lisa even left a comment on Instagram saying she would be there when the bar needed to fill up space.”

Some believe that not only Lisa, Jennie also crossed the limit when appearing in a movie that was considered “trash” like  The Idol . In this Hollywood work, Jennie has many sensitive dance scenes, boring dialogue, and poorly rated acting:

While information about BlackPink’s contract is still a question mark, YG has set the debut date of BlackPink’s successor girl group, Baby Monster. This girl group is expected to achieve global popularity, replacing BlackPink’s position at YG.
