Facebook Watch canceled two of its original scripted shows on Thursday, Jessica Biel‘s Limetown and Elizabeth Olsen‘s Sorry For Your Loss.

While Facebook Watch is still developing other narrative, scripted programs, the platform is expected to start focusing on unscripted fare.

All of the scripted programs will still be released by Facebook Watch as scheduled, but the company will be ‘paring down significantly’ their scripted shows.

Still, sources claim that Facebook Watch isn’t entirely abandoning scripted programming, but it’s unscripted shows have had more traction with users.

Two of the platform’s most popular offerings are non-fiction shows Red Table Talk featuring Jada Pinkett Smith and her family, and Mike Rowe’s Returning The Favor.

Facebook Watch’s shift to non-scripted mirrors YouTube Red’s shift, following early success like Cobra Kai.

But with so much competition from streaming platforms, cable networks and broadcast networks, streaming platforms like Facebook Watch and YouTube Red have had more success with non-scripted fare.
