The first kiss between Roger Federer and his wife Mirka: a tender story

Tennis legend Roger Federer and his wife Mirka are one of the most famous and close-knit couples in the sports world, not just limited to tennis. The Swiss champion and his wife met at the beginning of the new millennium and the story of their first kiss is truly tender and nice.

Mirka was a professional player and together with Roger they represented Switzerland at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, when she was 21 and Roger was 18. Several years ago, in 2016, Roger told to the Guardian: “When I kissed her for the first time, she said: You’re so young.

I said, Well, I’m almost 18 and a half. Do you know how you try to shove another half year in? And she was like: OK, you’re a baby!” She first saw Roger at a tournament in Switzerland, as the future tennis legend and icon threw a racket away in frustration.

“I was playing club tennis in Switzerland and everybody said: Go see this guy, he’s super talented, the future of tennis. And the first thing she saw was me throwing a racket and shouting, and she was like: Yeah! Great player, he seems really good!

What’s wrong with this guy?” Federer once told the Guardian. Federer added in a later interview: “We spent two weeks together, that’s how we met and on the last day before leaving we kissed for the first time!”

Roger Federer and Mirka, the perfect love story

Roger Federer is undoubtedly one of the greatest tennis players of all time.

His talent, grace and elegance on the pitch made him a sporting icon. But behind every great man there is always a great woman, and in Federer’s case, that woman is his wife Mirka. Mirka Federer, born Mirka Vavrinec, is also a former Swiss professional tennis player.

Born on 1 April 1978, Mirka had a long and prestigious career in the world of tennis, before deciding to retire in 2002. The two met during the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, where they were both representing Switzerland. Mirka was in the women’s tournament and Federer in the men’s.

It was love at first sight and the two started dating shortly after. In 2009, Roger and Mirka decided to join their lives in marriage. The ceremony was held in Switzerland, with an intimate ceremony attended only by relatives and close friends.

Since then, the couple has become one of the most solid and close-knit in the world of sport. Mirka has always supported Roger in his tennis journey. She often traveled with him around the world to attend his matches and supported him during difficult moments in his career.

It is not uncommon to see Mirka sitting in the stands, applauding and supporting her husband with a smile on her face. However, her role goes far beyond that of a simple spectator. After her retirement from professional tennis, Mirka took on the role of Roger’s manager.

She is responsible for planning her husband’s commitments, contract negotiations and organizing promotional events. Her role is essential to ensuring that Roger can focus solely on the field of play. Together, Roger and Mirka are parents of four wonderful children.

They have two sets of twins, Myla and Charlene born in 2009, and Leo and Lenny born in 2014. The Federer family is very close and the children are often present at their father’s matches. Roger and Mirka are also known for their philanthropic commitment.

In 2003, they founded the Roger Federer Foundation, which focuses on the education of disadvantaged children in the world’s poorest regions. Their foundation has funded numerous educational and community development projects in Africa and other troubled places.

Roger Federer and his wife Mirka are an example of how success, fame and money can be combined with simplicity, humility and generosity. They are an incredibly close-knit couple who work together to achieve great things on and off the tennis court.

Their love and support for each other has led them to be considered two of the most loved and respected people in sport and society.
