She is best known for playing Daenerys Targaryen on the hugely popular HBO series Game of Thrones.
And Emilia Clarke proved her full commitment to the show’s eighth and final season on Tuesday, by dying her hair the platinum blonde hue of her famous Khaleesi character.
The actress, 30, unveiled her new bright blonde locks in a playful selfie on Instagram, accompanied by an excitable caption which thanked the show’s make-up team for finally making ‘this magical moment a reality.’

While Emilia’s character Daenerys is known for her ice blonde tresses, the actress has always sported a darker, brunette hue – making the look more striking.
However the London native could not contain her excitement at her new do in the snap, as she posed for the camera with her mouth open in a wide smile, while her hairdressers blow dried her newly lightened locks.
The star accompanied the snap with a lengthy caption, which thanked the Game of Thrones hair and make-up team for finally helping her take the plunge, after seven whole seasons on the show.

She wrote in disbelief: ‘AAAAHHHHHHH SHHHHIIIII******. I done did it!
‘Mother of dragons meet Emilia. Emilia meet mother of dragons. If you squint just so you might never know.’
She then went on to thank the crew for not only providing her with a blonde hairpiece over the years, but for now altering the colour of her locks with ease.

The pair, whose romantic relationship has been building throughout the penultimate season of the HBO fantasy drama, finally gave into their passion as they sailed north from Dragonstone, to face off against the dreaded White Walker threat.
Jon sneaked into ‘ quarters and his lovestruck queen was only too quick to invite him inside, resulting in the pair making love while at sea – to the delight of fans.
However in an unsettling twist, the scene played out as Jon’s true parentage was revealed, making Dany his aunt – although neither are yet aware of their blood relation.
Speaking in a special behind-the-scenes commentary for show, Emilia said ‘gagging’ was her first reaction to the tryst – while Kit acknowledged the ‘weird’ encounter had been inevitable after weeks of building romance.
Kit said: ‘I think they both know it’s wrong. I think they both know it’s going to cause problems. But it’s that thing, when you suddenly feel that deeply about someone and you go through these events together, it’s like a runaway train.
‘I think it’s an inevitability from about halfway through the season that Jon and Daenerys will fall into bed together. You can’t stop it from happening.’
