Erling Haaland could potentially be out of Manchester City’s massive clash against Liverpool after an injury update from Norway’s team doctor.
As per an official statement, Ola Sand confirmed that whilst Haaland’s latest injury setback isn’t serious, the 23-year-old striker is in serious pain after picking up an ankle problem against the Faroe Islands.
The Norway official said: “The injury is not serious, but he is in so much pain and somewhat restricted function that the Scotland game unfortunately comes a little too early.”

Signed for £60m last year, Haaland has firmly established himself as the best striker in world football and the Premier League’s most feared attacker by some distance.
Yet the forward could now be out of next week’s huge clash against Liverpool, with Haaland’s ankle injury unlikely to be resolved come Saturday’s encounter at the Etihad Stadium.
As a result, Liverpool now have a huge advantage against the reigning Premier League champions, with Haaland’s injury a potential game-changer for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
With City the ongoing winning machine with seemingly no weakness, the Manchester side losing their most dangerous player in Haaland is nothing short of huge for Liverpool.
The Scandinavian superstar has been a monster once again for Pep Guardiola’s side this season, and Liverpool will want every advantage they can get going into next Saturday’s fixture.
Indeed, whilst Liverpool have their own injury problems, City’s list now far exceeds what the Reds have to deal with heading into the latest Premier League headliner.
Haaland’s absence gives Liverpool a major boost, and the Reds will have to do all they can to take the advantage that has now potentially been presented going into next weekend.
