Cardi Bย is sticking up forย Will Smith.
On Wednesday, the “I Like It” rapper hopped on an Instagram Live to support Smith after a video blogger aired an interview with claims about Smith’s ๐ e๐ฅ life that the actor’s rep called “completely fabricated.” As she analyzedย Smith’sย situation, she tied it back to her ongoing legal battle with blogger Tasha K.
โI donโt like how I got fooled a couple of weeks ago..some people just never change,โ Cardi B, 31, said on her Instagram Live Wednesday, according toย a video shared on Xย (formerly known as Twitter). In October, Cardi reportedly debated easing up on Tasha K โ who still owes the rapper more than $3 million in damages โ on social media, according toย TMZ.
โI donโt like what people be doing to Will Smith. I be feeling like Will Smith is very unproblematic and I feel like he has a nice heart, and thatโs the thing,” she added. “I found out that Will Smith is a LibraโฆLibras, we be getting tried, we be getting tried, and thenย when we outburst,ย we outburstย so fโing heavy,ย that we become the ones in the wrong. We go so crazy, people be like, โOh my God!’โ

She continued, “Ya’ll be doing that to Will Smith. And I don’t like that some people never fโing change. I’m so tired of people picking on that man. Deadass.”
In her Instagram Live, the “Up” rapper concluded by saying she knew what it was like to be publicly berated by false statements.
During a recent interview onย Unwineย With Tasha K,ย an individual named Brother Bilal claimed that years ago,ย he walked inย on Smith andย fellow actorย Duane Martinย having ๐ e๐ฅ. Smith’s wifeย Jada Pinkett Smith,ย as well as the actor’s rep,ย haveย denied those claims.

โLet me just say this,โ Pinkett Smith began during an interview on Power 105.1โsย The Breakfast Club. โItโs ridiculous, right? And itโs nonsense.โ
As for Tasha K, Cardi filed aย defamation lawsuitย ย against her in 2019 after the blogger made a series of negative claims about her.ย Ultimately, theย court sided with Cardi.
Cardi said in a statement shared with PEOPLE at the time,ย “After almost four years of repeated libel and slander against me, being able to walk away from this victorious brings me great happiness. I appreciate Judge Ray for conducting a fair and impartial trial.”

“I am grateful for the jury and their careful deliberation over the past two weeks. I am profoundly grateful for the hard work and support from my legal team. Most importantly, thank you to my family and close friends who held my hand and helped me get the support I needed during this experience.”
Seemingly referencing her moment during the trialย when she testifiedย that Kebe’s remarks caused her to be “extremely suicidal,” Cardi said in her statement that fans have “learned about the darkest time in my life,” sharing it was “fueled by the vile, disgusting, and completely false narratives that were repeatedly and relentlessly being shared online.”
“I thought I would never be heard or vindicated and I felt completely helpless and vulnerable,” Cardi added. “I have never taken for granted the platform that my fame allows me to have, which is why for over three years I dedicated every resource I had to seek justice.”
