Mbappe: “No need for a coach to tell me I’m the best player in the world”

Striker Kylian Mbappe shares his relationship with coaches at a press conference before the France national team’s match against Gibraltar in the Euro 2024 qualifiers.

Recently, France captain Kylian Mbappe appeared at Les Bleus’ press conference for the first time since June. Here, he shared about his relationship with his coaches at the club and national team.

In it, Mbappe mentioned being criticized by PSG coach Luis Enrique . However, the 24-year-old striker affirmed that he is not afraid of that and said he always cooperates and has a good relationship with the coach.

“I have always worked well with coaches up to now, like Didier Deschamps, Mauricio Pochettino, Thomas Tuchel, etc. It can be said that they have all criticized me very badly – but that does not stop me from playing well and having good relationships. good relationship with them.

I am a player with very high demands for myself, so when I receive that feedback from the coach, I am very happy. I don’t need my coach to say I’m the best player in the world every day.” Mbappe said in a press conference before the match against Gibraltar.

Mbappe also admitted that there is a difference in the roles the coach gave him at PSG and the French national team. However, the 24-year-old player feels happy because he has access to the playing styles of many excellent coaches, thereby improving himself.

“Deschamps focuses on adapting to the opponent, which means I am a different player. It allowed me to expand my reach. I was able to further improve my performance because the coach gave me full freedom on the left wing.

Luis Enrique taught me more about participating in the squad structure. I’m adapting to all these plans and to the two great coaches I have. I really want to listen and learn from them.” Mbappe concluded.

The match between France and Gibraltar will take place at 2:45 a.m. on November 19, Vietnam time. Because he already has a ticket to the Euro 2024 finals and the opponent is only the bottom team, this will be an opportunity for coach Deschamps to have new experiments to prepare for the tournament.
