He might not be well liked, but apparently he’s pretty influential.
Aaron Rodgers, the New York Jets quarterback that was injured a few minutes into the 2023 season, was dubbed the most influential football player, scoring an influence number of 8.23 out of 10, according to research done by TicketSource.
The scores are based off of views on Instagram, X, Facebook, Google searches and Wikipedia views.
The top five NFL stars on the list were Rodgers, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Denver Broncos signal-caller Russell Wilson, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson.
Rounding out the top 10 were Philadelphia’s Jalen Hurts, Miami’s Tyreek Hill, Cleveland’s Deshaun Watson, New Orleans’ Derek Carr and injured Minnesota star Kirk Cousins.
The only non-quarterback on the list was Hill, who plays wideout for the Dolphins.
Rodgers suffered a torn Achilles tendon in the first quarter of his debut for the Jets after getting traded to New York from Green Bay. While nothing is confirmed, rumors that he’ll return in December are popping up. If he does, it will only make him more influential.
When it comes to teams, the top 10 most influential squads were the Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers, Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs, San Francisco 49ers, Denver Broncos, New York Giants and Seattle Seahawks.
Despite having the most influential athlete, the New York Jets don’t carry much weight. They came in at 26th out of 32 teams.
