Captain America star Chris Evans is terrified of rats, once got frightened out of his wits when a rat got into his trailer.

Chris Evans and his titular character Captain America are two sides of the same coin, a fact that many would unanimously agree. While Evans may be more on the fun side in real life, it is no secret that much like his MCU character, the actor has strong ideals, ethics, and the perfect physique.

But long before he became America’s Super Soldier, the actor starred in the 2010 movie The Losers along with actors like Idris Elba. While on set Elba discovered a surprising fact about the Marvel star, stating that a big man like him was afraid of a rat that had somehow gotten into his trailer and was crawling in his bed.

One would think that the Captain America star Chris Evans would not be afraid of anything, having played not one but two powerful superheroes in Marvel. However, the actor, who has one of the best physiques in Hollywood, is apparently terrified of rats. During the shoot of his comic book-inspired movie, The Losers, the actor freaked out after a rat got into his trailer.

In an interview with BET, his co-star, Idris Elba revealed the details of the incident,

Chris Evans was always the top choice for the role of Steve Rogers and it took a long time to have him on board. The actor had said no multiple times and even declined to audition, but the studio had hopes nonetheless.

Evans on the other hand was afraid to have his privacy, liberty, and nearly a decade of his life taken away if the movie succeeded. And if it did not, he would have been stuck, contractually obliged, to make ‘sh*tty’ movies (via MCU: The Reign Of Marvel Studios).

After Marvel rolled back the contract to six movies instead of nine and Robert Downey Jr. called him to convince him, Evans finally said yes, thinking that maybe whatever the thing he was most scared of was the right thing to do.

And that is how he ended up doing all those Marvel movies while simultaneously overcoming his fears and anxiety about playing Captain America. But there he got over his fear of rats or not, is still a mystery.
