Kanye West famously went on an onstage rant about rapper Jay-Z in 2016, but it seems that the two hitmakers have been able to clear the air.
On Friday, Jay-Z opened up about his relationship with the Heartless rapper while appearing on an episode of Netflix’s My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman.
‘Let me talk about one of your peers, Kanye West. Are we friends or are we not friends?’ asked Letterman, to which Jay-Z replied, ‘That’s my brother. We’re beyond friends.’

The rapper, whose real name is Shawn Carter, continued: ‘Really, my little brother is Kanye. And like, [with] your little brother, things happen sometimes.’
In November 2016, Kanye ranted onstage at a concert pleading for Jay-Z to call him and accusing Beyoncé of refusing to perform at that year’s MTV Video Music Awards unless her Formation music video beat him and Drake for Video Of The Year, which it did.
According to the 48-year-old star, the two have had a complicated relationship, but they’ll always remain brothers.
‘It’s still your sibling forever, it’s my brother. We don’t come from the same mom and dad but I watched Kanye from without an album,’ said the Brooklyn native.

And when it comes to what he loves about his friend, the rapper admitted that even after all of Kanye’s fame, he still remains the same.
‘The thing I respect about him is that he’s the same person. He interrupted our studio session and stood on the table and started rapping,’ shared the Empire State Of Mind rapper. ‘We were like, “Could you please get down?” And he was like, “No! I am the savior of Chicago!” He didn’t have a record.’
After Jay-Z and the famed talk show host laughed, David asked if the infamous rapper would ever sit down for an interview.

While on the show, Jay-Z also delved deeper into his marriage with Beyoncé.
Talking about his indiscretions, he said: ‘I have a beautiful wife who’s understanding and knew I’m not the worst of what I’ve done. We did the hard work of going to therapy and you know, we love each other, right? So we really put in the work.’

And his fans might get a better understanding after listening to his latest album, 4:44, which was released last year.
‘This music that I’m making now is a result of things that happened already,’ said Jay-Z. ‘Like you, I like to believe we’re in a better place today. But we’re still working and communicating and growing.

But in the meantime, Beyoncé, 36, has pulled out all the stops for her upcoming Coachella performance, as the star reportedly hired 100 new back-up dancers just days before the festival.
According to TMZ, only a dozen back-up dancers were scheduled to perform alongside the Formation songstress on April 13, but the decision to increase the dancers ten-fold only occurred within the last week.
Sources told the site the superstar has shifted her rehearsals to a much larger studio, while her stage at the festival will be decked out to the nines with fantastic lights and visuals.
Having cancelled her first headline gig at the popular music event in 2017 after announcing she was expecting twins Rumi and Sir, the Crazy In Love singer is going all out for her performance this year.
The R&B icon is reportedly making sure to keep everything under wraps by making all the dancers sign non-disclosure agreements.
