It’s difficult to view the footage of Andre Onana that surfaced following Manchester United’s draw with Galatasaray.
In a thrilling match on Wednesday, the Red Devils and the Turkish giants drew 3-3, severely hurting their chances of qualifying for the Champions League.
After taking a 2-0 lead in the first 20 minutes with goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes, Erik ten Hag’s team appeared to be coasting to victory.
But, Onana was caught off guard by Hakim Ziyech’s free kick at the halfway point, which led to a tight end to the half.
Soon after the interval, Scott McTominay gave United their two-goal lead back, but Onana was again at fault from another Ziyech free-kick, allowing the ball to tumble through his gloves and into the net.
After 10 minutes, Kerem Akturkoglu finished the comeback, leaving United hoping for a miracle on matchday six to advance to the next round.
Since then, footage of Onana appearing obviously upset at full-time has surfaced. He first throws his gloves to the ground in anger before burying his head in his hands.

But after the match, manager Erik ten Hag stated, “We win and lose together,” refusing to place the blame on his goalie. Onana is doing fine. It has nothing to do with people.
“In football, individual mistakes can have a significant impact and you must accept responsibility for them, but the team always comes first.
“This team’s players are all excellent players, and they should all be playing for Manchester United.
“With our keeper group, we could not be happier. They perform effectively and do a great job. They have to exert mutual pressure.”
