Simone Biles is dealing with some frustrating renovation setbacks.
On Wednesday, the Olympic gold medalist shared an update on her Instagram of how construction is going on the new Texas home that she and husband Jonathan Owens are building. In a series of Stories, she shared that there had been some issues discovered during day two of what she called the “trim walk.”
“Yesterday I was here from 11am-5pm…..🥴,” she wrote on a video that panned across the high ceilings in the home. “I thought it was going to be a 30 minute thing bc I had no clue what I was walking into.”
In the next video, she shared a view of herself looking baffled at the renovations. “Me confused as fck..” she captioned the post.
While it wasn’t clear what exactly went wrong with the construction day that lasted six hours, she said she enlisted the help of her dad and her husband.
“Called my dad for backup yesterday bc I panicked! but I’ve made so much progress & I’m so proud of myself,” she wrote. “jonathan will deal with the end result oops……..I hope I did it decently & thought of all the things.”

Biles then took a snap of another possible house setback: the patterned floor tile of what appears to be a bathroom with deep yellow stains lining the grout. “I cannot deal anymore,” she captioned the photo alongside several angry emojis.

Biles’ last update on the home renovations was a more optimistic one. On Nov. 17, she posted a glimpse of one of the larger rooms on Instagram.
In the opening shot of a carousel, she could be seen smiling widely in a selfie as she held the keys to the home in one hand. The photo was tilted upward and showed the complicated base construction work for the walls and roofing of one of the rooms, along with large sliding doors already built in.
She shared a better look at the space in another shot, showing smaller windows built near the roof, with larger transparent sliding doors set up below. The room appeared likely to be the living room or another large gathering room once completed, as there also seemed to be a fireplace setup.
She then showed a shot of a much smaller room with similar sliding doors leading out to a patio and a view of some greenery and a body of water beyond. The carousel also included a snap of her dirty construction boots next to a pair of black Prada slides.
“eeeeeeeppppp 🛠️🏠😌,” Biles captioned the Instagram post.
The gymnast appeared to be emotional at the progress, writing, “We have drywall,” alongside a crying face emoji.
