As mentioned earlier, the break of four weeks will be due to the author undergoing Eye surgery to get rid of his high degree of astigmatism. After the release of the latest issue of Shuesia’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine was released, it was announced that One Piece will follow a four-week break after the release of One Piece Chapter 1086 in the 28th issue of the Shonen Jump magazine.

Meaning that the next chapter of One Piece which is One Piece chapter 1087 will be returning in the 33rd issue of the shonen jump magazine next month. The announcement was soon followed by a message none other than the author that had to convey things to the fans who were concerned about the sudden break.

In his message to the fans, Eiichiro Oda begins by apologizing to the fans and discussing that he has been promising the fans about One Piece is in the final saga but it will have to stop for a while for him to get his eyes done. Adding to the statement, Oda jokes that he getting his eyes done to shoot laser beams.

The message continues with Oda worrying about the fans worrying about him even though he’s been joking thus, he’d like to clear up the details with the announcement that he has been going to have eye surgery to get rid of the high degree of astigmatism. While this is a common disease that people live with it till the end, Oda decided to get them done and has been in a talk with the chief-in-editor of Shonen Jump since last year.
