Chris Evans Was Worried About The Avengers’ Success
Marking his debut in Marvel Cinematic Universe with his role as Steve Rogers aka Captain America, Chris Evans went on to appear in several superhero movies. Starting with his 2011 movie Captain America: The First Avenger, Evans achieved impeccable success in no time. Chris Evans as Captain America
However, following his role in the 2011 installment of Captain America, Chris Evans appeared in The Avengers, wherein several MCU superheroes were brought together. Nonetheless, despite stealing the show with his role as Steve Rogers in the 2012 movie, Evans was worried sick about the success of his film.
Evans was worried about the success of The Avengers
Following his Captain America role, the actor was terrified of shooting The Avengers. He believed that the movie might fail to succeed at the box office. Well, Chris Evans certainly had his reasons for his doubt, but the actor was eventually proved wrong when the 2012 iteration was hailed by fans.
Bizarre Reason That Terrified Chris Evans
But why exactly was Chris Evans worried about the success of The Avengers? The actor had already worked with Marvel’s crew and was aware of their potential. So why exactly was he terrified of shooting the movie and more importantly doubted its success?
Chris Evans was worried that The Avengers might not work
According to an interview with Moviefone, Chris Evans was asked about the biggest difference between shooting The Avengers and Captain America. That’s when the actor began by sharing his experience of filming both movies and proceeded to discuss his worries and explain his reasons.
“Oh my God, I love sharing the workload. On ‘Captain America,’ I worked every single day — every single f-cking day — for six months. Sometimes six days a week. We finished the movie and it was just exhausting. Like, literally, I needed like a month to not move. ‘Avengers’? I work, maybe, two days a week. Oh, it’s the best. It was like summer camp.”
Evans was worried that The Avengers cast won’t get along and thus ruin the film
“I really liked the script. Everyone in the cast… I’ve done a million movies with Scarlett. I’ve known Hemsworth a while, he was great. And everyone is so cool: Downey and Ruffalo and everyone’s so f-cking cool. The movie could have been — I mean, it could have been a sh-t show. If we all didn’t get along, it just could have been such a disaster. But it couldn’t have gone better.”
After working in a standalone movie, Evans was obvious to feel worried about The Avengers, which had a bunch of superheroes played by a stellar cast. But eventually, it’s a good thing that the cast had a fun experience and got along with each other. Otherwise, the actor’s doubts would have come true, resulting in a box office disaster.
