The brief 90-second clip doesn’t give too much away in terms of plot, but it’s clear this will be an epic conclusion to the story of Robert Neville, the last surviving human in a world overrun by vampire-like mutants.

We see glimpses of the desolate, overgrown New York City landscape that was the backdrop for the first film. But there are also tantalising shots of new characters, including what appears to be a young woman who could hold the key to mankind’s salvation.

Of course, the real draw here is the comeback of Smith as Neville. In the teaser, we see the world-weary but determined former scientist fighting for survival, using his scientific know-how and formidable combat skills to take on the infected hordes. Fans will be thrilled to see the star back in action hero mode after his recent more dramatic roles.

Director Barry Sonnenfeld, who helmed the original, is back at the helm for this final chapter. And based on the visceral, edge-of-your-seat footage on display, he’s pulling out all the stops to deliver a suitably explosive finale.

‘I Am Legend 2: The Final Chapter’ is slated for release in cinemas worldwide on 1st November 2025. For those who grew up with the first film, this is sure to be a must-see event movie that brings the story to a truly epic conclusion.
